Volkswagen updates core lineup with new hybrid and electric models

Volkswagen is implementing significant updates across its vehicle lineup, focusing on hybridization and electric efficiency. The company is introducing a new generation of the T-Roc SUV, which features a larger footprint, increased cargo capacity, and a new full-hybrid powertrain that eliminates diesel and manual transmission options.

The iconic Golf model is also undergoing a major transition. It will receive a new full-hybrid drive combining a 1.5-liter turbo engine with two electric motors, designed to charge via recuperation without needing a plug. Long-term, Volkswagen plans to split the Golf brand, maintaining internal combustion engines—with production moving to Mexico—while introducing a dedicated electric version by the end of the decade.

In the electric sector, the ID. 3 is being updated as the ID. 3 Neo, offering various battery sizes with WLTP ranges up to 630 kilometers. Additionally, Volkswagen has announced a 'Mission Efficiency' project, aiming to showcase a highly efficient electric sedan capable of achieving record-breaking energy consumption under real-world driving conditions.
