Volleyball: Slovakia and Ukraine suffer losses in Tallinn tournament

During a preparatory tournament in Tallinn, Estonia, the Slovakian and Ukrainian men's national volleyball teams faced setbacks in their preparations for upcoming major championships.

Slovakia lost to Ukraine in straight sets (0-3), with scores of 18-25, 23-25, and 19-25. Despite the loss, Slovakia won an additional exhibition set 25-21. Slovakian coach Michal Masný noted that while the team showed improvement compared to their previous match against Estonia, they must work on their mental strength to win matches against teams they are expected to beat.

Ukraine experienced a different outcome in their final tournament match, losing to the host nation, Estonia, in a five-set thriller (2-3). After dominating the first two sets 25-20, Ukraine struggled in a marathon third set that ended 37-35 in favor of Estonia. Estonia ultimately secured the match 27-25 in the fourth set and 15-13 in the tiebreak. Under coach Raul Lozano, Ukraine finished the tournament in second place with two wins in three matches as they prepare for Euro 2026.
