Volodymyr Zelensky to meet Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump in New York

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced plans to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. Following a telephone conversation, Zelensky confirmed on X that the two leaders agreed to meet to discuss the current situation in Ukraine and diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict.

Zelensky is also scheduled to meet with Donald Trump in New York at the end of September. This meeting follows recent trips by American emissaries to both Moscow and Kyiv as Washington attempts to restart mediation efforts that have been stalled for several months. While European leaders are not directly involved in these specific U.S.-led discussions, Zelensky remains hopeful for a resumption of direct negotiations with Russia.
