Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismisses Russian calls for Moscow peace talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded sarcastically to inquiries from Russian state media regarding potential peace negotiations. While the Kremlin has insisted on meetings taking place in Moscow, Zelenskyy, speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, dismissed the suggestion by stating he would arrive in Moscow ‘on a rocket’.

In a broader strategic context, analysts note that Russian military progress in the Donbas region remains limited despite significant casualties. Reports indicate that while Russia claims substantial territorial gains, actual advancements are minimal compared to the human cost. This stalemate has led to concerns regarding potential Russian asymmetric or hybrid warfare targeting European Union and NATO member states to secure alternative strategic advantages.
