Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejects claims of religious persecution in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed allegations made by American journalist Tucker Carlson regarding the persecution of Christians in Ukraine. Zelenskyy stated that Carlson should not make such accusations because he has not visited the country to witness the situation firsthand.

Zelenskyy asserted that Ukraine maintains religious freedom, citing the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations as evidence. He noted that he meets monthly with members of this council in his office and frequently visits various churches. However, the reports noted that Zelenskyy did not clarify why representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are not present in these meetings or why they are excluded from the Council.
