Volos: Two arrested for assault and robbery on beach

Two men, aged 21 and 22, have been arrested and charged with joint dangerous bodily harm and joint robbery following an attack on a beach in Volos. The incident occurred early Sunday morning after a verbal altercation at a local nightclub.

The victims, two men aged 24 and 25 from the Sporades islands, were traveling in a taxi when they were pursued by a group of individuals on motorcycles. The attackers reportedly struck the victims, causing head injuries, and also injured the taxi driver who attempted to intervene.

The suspects deny involvement, claiming they were at a nightclub during the time of the incident. They intend to present digital evidence from their mobile phones, such as social media posts and messages, to support their alibi. However, the victims have reportedly identified the suspects, and the taxi driver has also provided testimony. The suspects remain in custody pending further judicial proceedings.
