Volotea launches direct Valencia‑Algiers flights
Spanish low‑cost carrier Volotea announced a new direct route linking Valencia Airport (VLC) in Spain with Houari Boumédiène International Airport (ALG) in Algiers, Algeria. The first flight is scheduled for 28 November 2026, with an initial winter service running from 29 November 2026 to 5 January 2027, offering three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. A summer schedule will follow, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with adjusted departure times for daylight‑saving time.
Promotional fares start at €25 for early‑bird bookings, while regular prices can rise to €200‑€300 later in the month. The new service competes with Air Algérie, which resumed the Valencia‑Algiers link in June 2026 with fares of about €204 for a one‑way ticket. Volotea’s lower‑priced offerings target price‑sensitive travelers and the Algerian diaspora in Europe, potentially prompting Air Algérie to adjust its pricing or capacity on the route.
