Volta Redonda aims to deliver over 2,000 new homes under Minha Casa, Minha Vida

Mayor Antonio Francisco Neto of Volta Redonda met with construction representatives and a Caixa Econômica Federal official to speed up financing for new Minha Casa, Minha Vida projects. The administration seeks to exceed 2,000 new housing units for low‑income families, with the first phase, Morada do Campo, close to completion for 192 households.

The plan targets seven city neighborhoods – Açude, Retiro, Vale Verde, Santa Rita do Zarur, Fazendinha, Jardim Belmonte and Roma – and includes upgraded sanitation, lighting and security features. Since 2009, the program has already benefited more than 2,500 families in the municipality. The mayor highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the Catholic Campaign of Fraternity’s 2026 theme “Fraternity and Housing”.
