Volta Redonda authorities rescue animals from neglect

Authorities in Volta Redonda rescued a dog and a cat from an unsanitary residence in the Aterrado neighborhood following reports of neglect. The animals were found in a closed, poorly ventilated property with a strong odor of waste.

According to the Municipal Secretariat for Animal Protection and Defense, the animals had been without food or water for approximately 15 days and exhibited skin issues. The rescue was a joint operation involving the Municipal Guard. The animals have been sent for veterinary evaluation and will be placed with a registered caretaker while the case remains under police investigation.
