Volta Redonda seeks social support expansion for 5,000 oncology patients
The City Hall of Volta Redonda, through its Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance, has entered discussions for a partnership with the Hospital da Fundação Oswaldo Aranha (H. FOA). The initiative aims to expand social support for more than 5,000 oncology patients treated by the institution.
The proposed collaboration seeks to address social determinants of health by looking beyond clinical treatment. The partnership intends to identify and assist patients and their families with needs related to housing, nutrition, income, accessibility, and family structure. By integrating hospital care with social assistance, the goal is to create a structured socio-assistance profile to ensure patients can access necessary protection networks and services.
