Voltas forms joint venture with Atomberg for AC compressor manufacturing

Voltas Limited, a Tata Group company, has signed a binding term sheet with Atomberg Innovation Private Limited to establish a joint venture focused on manufacturing high-efficiency room air conditioner compressors and related parts in India. The partnership aims to enhance technology capabilities, improve energy efficiency, and strengthen the domestic supply chain through progressive localization.

Under the agreement, Voltas will serve as the anchor customer for the joint venture, while Atomberg Innovation will act as the technology partner, providing expertise in proprietary compressor technology, product design, and energy-efficient motors. The venture also intends to supply compressors to other market participants.

In a separate leadership move, Voltas has appointed Karan Sehgal as the Head of Sales (Designate) for its Unitary Products Business Group. Sehgal, who joins from ITC Limited, will oversee sales for room air conditioners, Voltas Beko consumer appliances, home comfort products, and commercial refrigeration effective October 1, 2026.
