Volunteer awards honor community service in Austria and Germany

Various regional awards ceremonies in Austria and Germany have recently honored individuals for their significant volunteer work and social commitment.

In Carinthia, Austria, 40 ‘Silent Heroes’ were recognized at a gala in Velden. The awards were distributed across Upper Carinthia, East Tyrol, and the districts of St. Veit and Feldkirchen. Officials, including Marika Lagger-Pöllinger and Governor Daniel Fellner, emphasized that such unpaid engagement is essential for community cohesion and social stability.

In the Munich district of Germany, a record number of volunteers were honored during a ceremony in Ismaning. Among the recipients were five residents from Pullach, including Dr. Michael Heisel, who was recognized for his long-term work with the Pullach Partnership Association, including sustainable development projects in Ukraine.
