Volunteer Fire Brigades Compete in Local Sports Events in Michałów and Żyraków, Poland

On July 5 2026, the municipality of Michałów hosted its annual Gmina Sport‑Fire Competition on the Sędowice field. Twenty‑one volunteer fire teams participated, including eleven OSP units, five women's fire teams and five youth teams. The event featured a firefighting relay and a combat drill, with judges from the State Fire Service in Pińczów overseeing the races. Awards were presented by the Gmina mayor Bogusław Kowalczyk and council chairman Michał Klamiński.

A week later, on July 12 2026, Żyraków held its own Gmina Sport‑Fire Competition on the local sports field. Sixteen teams entered – five women's squads and eleven men's squads. OSP Góra Motyczna won both the women's and men’s categories, underscoring the unit’s high level of preparation. All participants received commemorative diplomas and the top teams were awarded trophies.
