Volunteer fire departments in Slovakia and Czechia receive new facilities

Local municipalities in Slovakia and the Czech Republic have completed significant infrastructure projects for their volunteer fire departments.

In Prešov, Slovakia, the city has finished a comprehensive reconstruction of the Volunteer Fire Brigade's historic station on Košická Street. The project, which utilized over 870,000 euros from external sources, aimed to modernize the 19th-century building, improve technical equipment, and reduce energy consumption to provide better working conditions for volunteers.

In Sobětice, Czech Republic, a new fire station has been opened following a construction process that cost approximately 21.7 million CZK. The facility, built on the site of a former nursery school, includes vehicle garages, storage, social facilities, and a training room. Funding was provided by the Plzeň Region and the Czech Ministry of the Interior. The opening was marked by a local procession and a blessing of the new fire banner.
