Volunteer Fire Departments in Tymowa and Dębno celebrate 80th anniversaries

Volunteer Fire Departments (OSP) in Tymowa and Dębno, Poland, recently held ceremonies to mark 80 years of service.

In Tymowa, the celebrations included a mass and the presentation of the Gold Badge “Meritorious for Firefighting” to President Andrzej Nowak. The unit, founded in 1946, currently consists of 33 firefighters and 16 members of the Youth Firefighting Squad. Local officials, including Mayor Krystian Kosztyła, attended the event, which also honored Władysław Czarny, the oldest living firefighter in the unit.

In Dębno, the anniversary also commemorated 40 years of cooperation with Strausberg, Germany. The event was attended by local mayors, representatives from the State Fire Service, and international guests from Germany and the Netherlands. The ceremony highlighted the unit's history of development since its post-war founding to meet the community's fire protection needs.
