Volunteer initiatives focus on environmental and social service in Italy

Various volunteer initiatives have taken place across Italy, ranging from environmental maintenance to social service.

In the Belluno Prealps, four volunteer groups organized by the Belluno Alpina association worked to clean and restore trails along the western coast of Visentin. The initiative aimed to address what the association described as an ‘unacceptable’ state of decay during the tourist season. While the volunteers restored key access points and historical paths, Belluno Alpina has called for the creation of a forest consortium to provide professional, permanent maintenance and create local employment.

In Varese, youth from the Piazzola 1 Scout Group traveled from the province of Padua to support the Casa della Carità, a facility managed by the Associazione Pane di Sant’Antonio. The scouts performed various tasks, including cleaning dining areas, repainting kitchen walls, and assisting with meal services and clothing organization for vulnerable individuals.
