Volunteer programs offer free accommodation in Spain and Montenegro

Various volunteer opportunities are being offered in Europe through work-exchange platforms, allowing travelers to receive accommodation in exchange for specific tasks.

In Candelario, Salamanca, a village in Spain, volunteers are sought for the months of October through December 2026. The role involves approximately two to three hours of daily work, five days a week, focusing on gardening and property maintenance. Participants receive a private room with a bathroom and internet access via the Workaway platform.

In Montenegro, the Guvno Hotel & Farm near Bar is seeking a programmer to assist with website improvements and social media presence. The position requires 16 hours of work per week with two days off, offering a stay of four to twelve weeks between September and February. In exchange, volunteers receive a bed in a shared dormitory, three meals a day, and high-speed internet through the Worldpackers platform.
