Volunteer training initiatives focus on first aid and skill development
Volunteer organizations in Buxtehude, Germany, and East Tyrol, Austria, are hosting training sessions to support community engagement and emergency preparedness.
In Buxtehude, the city is organizing a free training day on November 7, 2026. The event includes workshops designed to assist volunteers in their roles, such as a first aid session led by instructors from the Malteser in Buxtehude. This workshop covers topics like heart attacks, strokes, and CPR to ensure volunteers can act confidently in emergencies. A second workshop focuses on improving communication skills, including voice, presence, and rhetoric.
Similarly, the East Tyrol Volunteer Center recently held a first aid course for its members. The training included practical exercises on accident site behavior, the recovery position, and the use of the EU Alpine App. Simone Ortner-Trebo, head of the East Tyrol Volunteer Center, noted that such training provides volunteers with greater security in their daily lives and community service.
