Volunteerism initiatives expand in Reus and across Spain
Volunteerism is seeing growth and expansion across various Spanish regional initiatives. In Reus, the municipal Volunteer Point has reached 368 registered volunteers as of June 30, marking an increase of 52 people compared to the first half of last year. These volunteers support 103 non-profit entities and 27 organizations in areas such as elderly care, youth support, and health.
In the Valencian Community, the Institut Valencià de la Joventut (IVAJ) reports that its volunteer camps attract over 200 young people annually through the ‘Viu la Solidaritat 2026’ campaign. These programs focus on environmental education and social values.
Additionally, the Casal de Joves Altimira in Cerdanyola del Vallès has joined the ‘Voluntariat per la llengua’ (VxL) program. This initiative, managed by the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística, facilitates Catalan language practice through conversational pairings for individuals over 18.
