Volunteers clean Sorraia River to create art in Coruche

Approximately 30 volunteers, ranging in age from 8 to 70, participated in a cleanup operation along the banks of the Sorraia River in Coruche. The initiative focused on collecting various types of waste, including plastics, tires, bottles, cans, and irrigation tapes.

Part of the collected plastic waste will be repurposed for an artistic work by Diogo Nunes as part of the Coruche Biennial – Percursos com Arte. The project is integrated with the European TRAP project, which aims to free rivers from plastic pollution by combining environmental protection with citizen science and artistic expression.
