Volvo and Lynk & Co launch premium electric and plug‑in hybrid models

Swedish automaker Volvo introduced the ES90 electric limousine, a five‑metre‑long sedan equipped with an 800‑volt battery system that Volvo says can travel close to 700 km on a charge. The car relies on a digital key stored in a smartphone, features Volvo’s signature “Thor’s Hammer” headlights, a lidar‑based sensor suite that powers lane‑keeping and optional automatic lane‑change assistance, and a glass roof that can be darkened on demand. Interior highlights include a large video‑mirror, analog volume‑control roller, and spacious rear seating.

Chinese‑Swedish brand Lynk & Co unveiled the 07 GT plug‑in hybrid combi, delivering up to 523 hp and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about four seconds. The model offers up to 200 km of electric range and roughly 1,400 km overall, supported by a 26‑cm digital driver display, a 39‑cm central touchscreen, and an augmented‑reality head‑up display. An AI assistant named “Eva” helps with navigation and vehicle functions. The limited‑edition 07 GT, limited to 1,007 units, sold out before official launch, and the vehicle starts at roughly €20,500. Its design, co‑created by teams in Europe and China, combines sporty proportions with multiple LED lighting signatures and a range of interior trims.
