Volvo CE expands excavator lineup with new EC130 and EC150 models
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has introduced the EC130 and EC150 crawler excavators to markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania. These machines are designed to maximize fuel efficiency through positive control hydraulics, intelligent work modes, and engine-pump optimization. The EC130 and EC150 feature an 8-inch integrated touchscreen Volvo Co-Pilot display and are engineered to balance productivity with low operating costs.
In the mining sector, Volvo offers the EC550E, a mid-50-tonne class excavator designed to bridge the gap between conventional 50-tonne machines and larger production units. The EC550E is optimized for use with A35 and A40 articulated haulers, aiming to provide a repeatable loading cycle. To assist with fleet integration, Volvo provides site simulation tools to model combinations of excavators, buckets, and haul units based on material density and site conditions.
