Volvo Group to launch dedicated Volvo Mining division in 2027

Volvo Group has announced the creation of Volvo Mining, a specialized business unit designed to centralize its mining-related offerings. Scheduled to become operational on January 1, 2027, the new entity will be hosted within Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE).

The division will integrate Volvo trucks, construction equipment, and autonomous solutions into a single structure to serve mining customers and contractors. By combining these capabilities, the group aims to provide end-to-end solutions that address increasing industry demands for productivity, safety, and resilience.

Per-Erik Lindström, currently Senior Vice President of Volvo Trucks International, has been appointed to lead the new unit. Initially, Volvo Mining will focus on markets in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, with plans for a phased expansion into additional global markets. The unit will also manage the group’s mining product and service portfolios and coordinate research projects across the organization.
