Volvo launches new hybrid excavator generation via Ascendum

Ascendum, the official distributor for Volvo Construction Equipment in Spain, has introduced a new generation of Volvo excavators featuring improved efficiency and hybrid hydraulic technology.

The new lineup includes models such as the EC400 Hybrid, which has an operating weight of up to 41.55 tonnes and a power output of 253 kW. A key innovation is the hydraulic hybrid technology, which recovers energy generated when the boom descends and stores it in an accumulator. This stored energy is then returned to the system via an assistance motor when needed, allowing the machine to reuse energy generated during its own work cycles without requiring changes to the operator's routine.
