Volvo Trucks Australia celebrates one year of food relief partnership

Volvo Trucks Australia has marked one year of its partnership with Foodbank New South Wales and the ACT. The collaboration utilizes a Volvo FH I-Save prime mover and a Vawdrey refrigerated trailer to support regional communities and respond to natural disasters.

During the first 12 months of operation, the dedicated vehicle has traveled nearly 15,000 kilometers. The partnership has facilitated the collection and delivery of over 1,000 tonnes of food and fresh produce, resulting in the distribution of more than 2.1 million meals through a network of over 700 community partners. The initiative also supports school breakfast programs by transporting fresh fruit and vegetables.

This relief effort comes as demand for food assistance has increased by 40 per cent, addressing food insecurity affecting one in three households across NSW and the ACT.
