Volvo Trucks Korea expands SLW traffic safety campaign to seniors
Volvo Trucks Korea has expanded its global ‘SLW’ (Stop-Look-Wave) traffic safety campaign to include senior citizens, moving beyond its previous focus on children. The initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety awareness among vulnerable groups.
From October 21 to 23, the company conducted educational programs in Hwaseong and Pyeongtaek. The senior program, held at the Hwaseong Nambu Senior Welfare Center, involved 300 participants and featured theoretical lessons, safety songs, and customized rhythmic exercises to make safety rules easier to remember. 3M participated by providing reflective safety stickers and fluorescent keyrings.
The children's program, held at the Pyeongtaek Agricultural Ecology Park, reached 400 participants. Activities included learning the SLW rules, practicing street crossings, and experiencing the blind spots of large vehicles by boarding a Volvo electric truck. Michelin Korea supported this segment with educational pop-up books and coloring activities.
Volvo Trucks Korea plans to release an SLW music video on its official YouTube channel featuring footage of both the children and seniors participating in the campaign.
