Vonitsa–Lefkada road nears completion and scheduled opening

The Vonitsa–Lefkada road is entering its final stages of completion. Construction crews are currently working on the last two-kilometer unfinished section, performing final asphalt paving, road marking, and the installation of safety barriers.

According to information from AIXMES Lefkada, the road is expected to be fully completed and opened to traffic by Friday, August 14, provided no unforeseen issues arise. The completion of this axis ends a long period of delays and construction detours for residents, commuters, and visitors. The opening is particularly significant as it occurs during the peak tourist season, as this road serves as the primary land access route to the island.
