Voorschoten combi-track construction delayed to spring 2027

The construction of the new combi-track in Voorschoten has been postponed to the spring of 2027. The delay follows technical assessments indicating that the drainage system beneath the current ice rink may require modifications to accommodate the site's future dual use as both a combi-track and part of Vlietpark.

To avoid the risks of heavy rainfall during the wet autumn months, contractors advised rescheduling the start date. Officials decided to postpone the project rather than proceed under time pressure. The additional time will also be used to solicit further donations and incorporate advice from the Stichting Waarborgfonds Sport to strengthen the facility's future operations.
