Évora region launches sexual and reproductive health week

Health authorities in the Évora region are conducting the National Week of Sexual and Reproductive Health to provide information and support services to young people. The initiative aims to help adolescents understand their bodies, make informed decisions, and identify available medical support services.

Currently, 16 adolescents between the ages of 15 and 19 are receiving medical care for pregnancies within the jurisdiction, following two recent births of minors under the age of 15. Officials emphasized that preventing adolescent pregnancy is a primary focus, noting that minors are often not yet developmentally ready for the responsibilities of parenthood. The week includes workshops and talks directed at students and health units.
