Vorarlberg honors citizens for social and historical contributions

Three individuals from Dornbirn, Austria, were awarded the Great Merit Decoration of the State of Vorarlberg during a ceremony in Bregenz. Governor Markus Wallner presented the awards on October 26, part of a larger event honoring eleven personalities for their services to the public good.

Werner Bundschuh received the Great Merit Decoration for his decades of work as a historian and educator, specifically his efforts in addressing Vorarlberg’s National Socialist past and promoting historical and political education. Eva Häfele was also recognized for her commitment to education, social development, and equal opportunity through her work with networks such as worknet and Double Check. Josef “Sepp” Gröfler was among the honorees recognized for his contributions to the community.
