Vorarlberg offers scenic sunrise and sunset hiking routes

Vorarlberg, Austria, offers several scenic routes for sunrise and sunset hiking in the Alps, featuring views of Lake Constance, the Bregenzerwald, and the Rhine Valley.

One notable sunrise hike is to the Kanisfluh, a landmark of the Bregenzerwald. The shortest route begins at the Alpengasthof Edelweiß am Öberle above Au. The ascent to the 2,044-meter summit takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours over a distance of about 5 kilometers. Hikers are advised to use headlamps and sturdy footwear, starting as early as 4:00 or 5:00 AM in September to catch the sunrise.

Another recommended location for sunrise viewing is the Hohe Kugel, which stands at an elevation of 1,645 meters.
