Vorarlberg opens second vaccination center in Rankweil

The state of Vorarlberg has expanded its vaccination services by opening a second vaccination center in Rankweil. This new location complements the existing center in Dornbirn, responding to increased demand for public immunization services.

Both locations offer vaccinations against Covid-19, which began on September 17, as well as measles, mumps, and rubella. Influenza vaccinations are scheduled to become available at the end of October, with appointment scheduling expected to open in late September.

Several vaccinations are provided free of charge for specific groups. These include HPV vaccinations for individuals aged 9 to 21, and Hepatitis B and meningococcal vaccinations for students aged 14 and 15. Additionally, pneumococcal and shingles vaccinations are available at no cost for people over 60 and other high-risk groups. While the shingles vaccine previously faced supply delays, it is currently available.

The centers do not provide booster shots (such as diphtheria or tetanus) or travel medicine consultations. For boosters, residents are referred to general practitioners, while travel medicine advice will be available through the state government's sanitary department starting in October.
