Vorarlberg reports fatal accidents and extreme drought

The Vorarlberg region is facing a combination of tragic accidents and severe environmental challenges. In Höchst, a three-year-old boy was fatally injured after being struck by a tractor trailer while riding his bicycle behind his father in a stable.

Other recent incidents in the area include a swimming accident in Rankweil involving a 20-year-old French tourist who sustained head and spinal injuries after falling onto rocks, and a serious collision in Bregenz between a car and a moped that required a rescue helicopter.

Additionally, the region is experiencing extreme drought. Water management data indicates that water levels in several bodies of water have reached critical lows. For instance, the flow rate of the Bregenzerach near Au is approximately one-fifth of the previous year's value, while smaller streams like the Gießenbach in Altach are flowing at only about eight liters per second.
