Vorwerk expands Thermomix ecosystem with AI and new language support
Vorwerk is expanding the digital capabilities of its Cookidoo platform and Thermomix TM7 device through several new features. A central update is the Cookidoo Assistant, an AI-powered tool designed to understand natural language. This allows users to search for recipes using conversational queries, such as asking for meal ideas based on specific ingredients currently in their pantry or requesting quick family dinners. The assistant can also compare recipe options and assist with weekly meal planning.
To increase global accessibility, Vorwerk is implementing an automated translation function for international recipes. This service initially supports languages including German, English, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French. Additionally, the Thermomix TM7 now includes Arabic language support, featuring a right-to-left user interface and an Arabic keyboard. The company plans to expand its Arabic content and web offerings through 2026.
While these technological advancements aim to make cooking more intuitive, public sentiment regarding AI in the kitchen remains mixed. A survey conducted for Nestlé in Germany indicates that 40 percent of respondents fear a loss of control due to AI, and 43 percent reject the idea of humanoid robots cooking at home. However, there is higher support for AI acting as a personal nutrition and health advisor.
