Vorwerk reports record Thermomix sales as Lidl launches cheaper Monsieur Cuisine Smart

Vorwerk announced a record 2024 revenue of €3.6 billion from its Thermomix TM7, despite having cut 160 jobs at its Wuppertal plant in 2025. CFO Hauke Paasch said there is no current lay‑off program, though the company will continue to look for efficiency gains. CEO Thomas Stoffmehl highlighted ongoing investments in the Wuppertal site, including a new visitor centre and continued production of the TM7 motor.

Lidl introduced the Monsieur Cuisine Smart, a kitchen appliance priced at €499.99 – roughly one‑third the cost of the Thermomix TM7. In a hands‑on test the device was found to perform many of the same functions (chopping, cooking, weighing, steaming, kneading, etc.) though with a bulkier design and a larger colour display. The review noted differences in lid‑locking mechanisms and weight‑measurement precision, but concluded it offers a viable, lower‑cost alternative for home cooks.
