Voter registration deadlines approach for Mississippi and Missouri

Voter registration deadlines are approaching for the November 3, 2026, general elections in several U.S. states.

In Mississippi, the deadline to register or confirm voter registration status is Monday, October 5, 2026. Officials note that Mississippi is one of 22 states that remove individuals from voter rolls due to inactivity. To avoid being purged, voters should respond to notices, update their information, or vote in an election at their registered location. Voters on inactive lists may be required to vote by affidavit. Certain groups, including active or reserve military and former jurors, are protected from these purges.

In Missouri, the deadline for voter registration is Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Residents are encouraged to check their registration status and ensure their information is current ahead of the November election.
