Voter registration updates released for Morocco and West Bank elections
Voter registration updates have been released for upcoming legislative elections in Morocco and the West Bank.
In Morocco, the total number of registered voters reached 15,801,162 following an exceptional review process completed in July 2026. The electorate is composed of 54 percent men and 46 percent women. Geographically, 55 percent of voters reside in urban areas, while 45 percent are in rural areas. The largest age group consists of those aged 60 and over, representing more than 29 percent of the total. Local authorities have begun distributing notifications to inform voters of their designated polling stations, though the national identity card remains the sole required document for identification on election day.
In the West Bank, the Central Election Committee has published the preliminary voter registry for the 2026 legislative elections. The publication and objection phase is scheduled to run until September 9. The preliminary registry includes over 1.6 million voters. Citizens can verify their data or submit objections through 443 centers across cities, villages, and camps, or via the committee’s official website and a dedicated phone service. This phase is the final step before the adoption of the final voter registry, which is required before the candidacy period begins on September 26.
