Votuporanga Fire Major recovers after leg amputation during service

Major Alex Brito de Moura of the Votuporanga Fire Department is undergoing a recovery process following the amputation of his right leg. The injury occurred on August 18 during a residential fire in the Patrimônio Novo neighborhood of Votuporanga, São Paulo.

Following the incident, the major was initially treated at Santa Casa de Votuporanga before being transferred via helicopter to the Hospital das Clínicas in São Paulo due to the complexity of his condition. After spending time in the intensive care unit and subsequent recovery periods, he faced further complications from a post-surgical infection that required additional hospitalization.

Major Brito de Moura, a veteran with a decade of service, has since begun sharing his journey of adaptation and recovery through social media.
