Votuporanga police arrest homicide suspect in Alagoas

Police in Votuporanga, São Paulo, have arrested a 28-year-old man suspected of murder and attempted murder following an incident in the São João neighborhood. The crime occurred on August 9 during a public street party.

According to investigators, a dispute broke out between the suspect and 34-year-old Claudemir dos Santos Cutrim. The suspect allegedly returned to the scene on a motorcycle, struck the victim with the vehicle, and then attacked him with a knife. The victim's partner, D. G. A., was also wounded while attempting to defend him but survived after emergency surgery.

The suspect was apprehended in Barra de Santo Antônio, Alagoas, through an intelligence operation involving the Civil and Military police of both states.
