Votuporanga seeks R$ 21 million for LED lighting and roadworks

The Votuporanga City Council in São Paulo is set to vote on four projects, including a proposal to authorize R$ 21 million in credit from Desenvolve SP for urban infrastructure. The investment aims to modernize the city's public lighting by replacing 16,851 conventional lamps with LED technology, a move expected to reduce energy consumption by approximately 51% and improve safety for pedestrians and drivers.

An additional R$ 8 million from the proposed credit is earmarked for paving works and the opening of strategic roads to improve urban mobility.

Separately, Mayor Jorge Seba has met with the State Secretary of Environment, Infrastructure, and Logistics, Natália Resende, to seek state investments for modernizing the city's sewage treatment station and emissary. This follows the May 2024 inauguration of the Vila Carvalho Compact Sewage Treatment Station, which helped the municipality reach a milestone of 100% sewage treatment.
