Vovinam World Cup attracts 325 competitors to Paris 2026

The 7th edition of the Vovinam – Viet Vo Dao World Cup was held from 22 to 25 July 2026 at the Halle Georges Carpentier in Paris. Around 325 athletes from about fifteen countries participated, up from roughly 250 at the previous edition, and the event marked the 30th anniversary of the World Vovinam Federation and its council of masters.

Vietnamese master Dr. Pham Quang Long, who has spent more than three decades promoting Vovinam internationally, attended the tournament alongside artist Quyen Linh. Linh recalled learning his first martial‑arts moves from Long in the 1990s and highlighted the sight of children from Europe, Africa and the Americas practicing the art, underscoring its growing global reach.
