VOX challenges local government actions in L’Hospitalet and Almería

The political group VOX has raised objections to local government actions in two different Spanish municipalities.

In L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, VOX has filed allegations against a proposed tax surcharge on tourist stays. The group argues the measure is purely for revenue collection and lacks economic justification, claiming it unfairly penalizes the hotel sector. Spokesperson Francisco González stated that the municipal government is attempting to hide a desire for increased tax revenue under the guise of housing issues, noting that the city currently maintains positive budget results and low debt.

In Almería, VOX has called for urgent technical inspections following water leaks that have flooded homes in the Patio del Moro area near the San Cristóbal neighborhood. Spokesperson Juan Francisco Rojas criticized the local People's Party (PP) administration for passivity regarding the issue. Residents have reported ongoing problems with humidity, leaks, and sanitation for several years, with recent leaks potentially originating from local water tanks.
