Juanma Moreno and Vox eye Andalusian investiture as Saca de las Yeguas proceeds

On 26 June the traditional Saca de las Yeguas moved more than 1 500 maresimena mares from the Doñana marshes to Almonte, Huelva. The event was attended separately by Andalusia’s president‑in‑function Juan Manuel Moreno (PP) and Vox’s parliamentary spokesman Manuel Gavira, who did not meet publicly. Moreno said there is “no agreement” with Vox and that negotiations will continue “until the last minute” as the Parliament prepares for the investiture vote slated for 29‑30 June, requiring an absolute majority of 55 seats. He pledged a speedy formation of government to begin work on the 2027 budget.

Vox, meanwhile, held its annual assembly in Madrid, presenting a deregulation plan that aims to simplify administration and claims that Spain generates about 12 000 new regulations each week. The party’s economic agenda cites ideas inspired by Elon Musk and former US President Donald Trump. The assembly also highlighted Vox’s institutional role in Andalusia, where it holds three vice‑presidencies in regional governments.

Both the Saca ceremony and the political talks have received strong institutional backing, with live broadcasts planned for the ceremony and extensive media coverage of the investiture negotiations.
