Vox Humanis Choir wins world championship at World Choir Games 2026

The Vox Humanis Polyphonic Choir, composed of students from Harran University and supported by the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, has been named a world champion in its category at the World Choir Games 2026 held in Sweden.

The competition featured more than 160 choirs and over 8,500 singers from more than 40 countries. Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar attended the award ceremony, where he accepted the first-place award alongside choir conductor Fırat Altun.

Gülpınar noted that the achievement aligns with the city’s status as a UNESCO City of Music and serves as a significant source of pride for both Şanlıurfa and Türkiye. He expressed continued commitment to promoting the region's cultural and artistic richness on international platforms.
