Spain: Sánchez and Abascal to compete in televised interviews
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is scheduled to be interviewed by Javier Ruiz on the new channel La Séptima this Monday, November 9. The interview, set for approximately 21:30, coincides with the appearance of Vox leader Santiago Abascal on the RTVE program La Revuelta. This scheduling overlap is viewed as a strategic political counter-programming move ahead of the general elections on November 29.
Sánchez has been actively campaigning, recently speaking in Tarragona where he called for a broad progressive majority to defend public services and women's rights against what he described as a crumbling far-right wave. He emphasized Spanish sovereignty, stating that the country is governed from Spain rather than from Washington or Moscow.
In contrast, Vox Secretary General Ignacio Garriga has used campaign events in Barcelona and Figueres to launch sharp criticisms against the PSOE government. Garriga has accused the administration of corruption within the Ministry of Transport and blamed socialist policies for issues in healthcare and public security. He has called for a unified vote to remove Sánchez from office.
