Voyager Technologies awarded $22.4 million DoD contract for satellite deployment

Voyager Technologies has secured a $22.4 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense's Strategic Capabilities Office to develop next-generation small satellite deployment systems.

The project involves creating flight-ready prototypes of deployment mechanisms designed to utilize unused payload capacity on existing rockets. This approach allows for the insertion of additional small satellites into orbit without interfering with the primary mission of the launch vehicle.

The ultimate goal of this Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) is to transition the developed technology to the U.S. Space Force. Matt Magaña, President of Space, Defense & National Security at Voyager, stated that the initiative aims to provide the military with new means to deploy additional capabilities into orbit more rapidly.
