Voyager Technologies completes Griffin-1 lunar lander testing
Voyager Technologies has completed acceptance testing for its Griffin-1 lunar lander, marking a significant milestone toward its targeted moon launch in late 2026. The spacecraft underwent nearly three months of environmental testing at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California.
During the testing phase, the lander was subjected to extreme conditions in the 25-Foot Space Simulator, a thermal vacuum chamber. Engineers simulated the harsh environment of space by alternating temperatures between 167 degrees Fahrenheit (75 degrees Celsius) and minus 148 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 100 degrees Celsius). Additional testing included electromagnetic interference and compatibility checks in an anechoic chamber, as well as mass property measurements to ensure flight stability.
The Griffin-1 lander is designed to carry payloads such as Astrolab’s FLIP (FLEX Lunar Innovation Platform) rover. While the technical milestones have been met, the company remains focused on the upcoming mission phase. Separately, TD Cowen recently lowered its price target for Voyager Technologies from $42 to $36, though it maintained a ‘buy’ recommendation.
