Voyah electric SUV performs viral tunnel looping stunt
The Voyah Passion S, a premium electric SUV from the Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng, has gained viral attention after successfully performing a tunnel looping stunt in Wuhan. The maneuver, which involves driving upside down on a tunnel ceiling, was inspired by a famous 2008 promotional stunt featuring Michael Schumacher in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
Technical analysis indicates the feat relied on centripetal force. To maintain grip, the driver had to maintain a speed of approximately 130 km/h and a steering angle of about 16 degrees, ensuring the normal force against the tunnel surface exceeded the force of gravity.
While the successful attempt featured a red vehicle completing the loop in a single continuous shot, reports indicate that an initial attempt with a camouflaged prototype failed when the vehicle crashed onto the ground instead of completing the loop.
