Úvoz ice stadium in Brno completes 10 million CZK reconstruction
The Úvoz ice stadium in Brno has completed an extensive reconstruction costing nearly 10 million CZK. Managed by the Brno-střed municipal district, the project focused on modernizing technological and operational facilities that had reached the end of their service life.
Key improvements include new ice surface concreting, a replacement of the cooling system and piping, and upgrades to the facility's technical infrastructure. These changes are expected to improve ice quality, reduce energy consumption, and enhance overall operating conditions. While much of the work was invisible to visitors, it ensures the long-term viability of one of Brno's four indoor ice rinks.
The reconstruction, which began in early April, was largely completed by mid-summer, followed by load testing to prepare the arena for public use and the HCM Warriors hockey club. The project was funded by a subsidy from the city of Brno, allowing the municipal district to cover all costs.
