Vozinha discusses Liga MX interest and loss of privacy

Cape Verdean goalkeeper Josimar José Évora Dias, known as Vozinha, has discussed both his professional prospects and the personal impact of his sudden rise to fame following the 2026 World Cup.

In a recent interview, Vozinha revealed that André-Pierre Gignac, a prominent figure for Tigres, invited him to play in Mexico's Liga MX, speaking highly of the country and the league. While no formal offer has been made, the goalkeeper expressed interest in the possibility, noting he has followed the Mexican league for years due to his friendship with Djaniny Tavares.

On a personal level, Vozinha addressed the challenges of his newfound celebrity. After his standout performances in the World Cup, his Instagram following grew from approximately 50,000 to over 28 million. He expressed that this fame has cost him his “peace and tranquility,” noting a significant loss of privacy in public spaces. He stated that if given the choice, he would prefer the quiet life he led before his global recognition.
